Veterinary Technician assists veterinarian with exams, surgeries, and first aid. Collects and documents case history and treatment details. Being a Veterinary Technician monitors vital signs and condition of animals being treated and provides nursing care. Takes X rays, EKG, Ultrasound, and performs various lab test including urinalysis and blood counts. Additionally, Veterinary Technician depending on state regulations, may administer anesthesia, injections, and perform dental prophylaxis, catheterization, and other procedures under supervision of a veterinarian. Instructs pet owners on how to administer medication and other animal care skills. Typically requires an associate degree. Depending on state, may require RVT certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Veterinary Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Salary:

Job Responsibilities:
· Deliver top notch, compassionate nursing care to patients utilizing a variety of technical skills, including diagnostic sample collection, catheter placement, radiography, emergency medicine, and more
· Assist with patient procedures and surgeries; perform sedation and anesthesia, preparation of patients, instruments, equipment
· Obtain health history from clients and ensure documentation is accurate and complete within the electronic medical record
· Willingness to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members
Skills and Qualifications:
· Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician, or have a minimum of 5 years experience in the veterinary field.
· Ability to communicate clearly with fellow staff members as well as clients.
· Proficient time management, ability to problem solve, learn, and multitask.
· Must be able to lift and restrain pets of at least 50 pounds, and work on feet most of the day.
