Veterinary Technician jobs in Connecticut
Veterinary Technician assists veterinarian with exams, surgeries, and first aid. Collects and documents case history and treatment details. Being a Veterinary Technician monitors vital signs and condition of animals being treated and provides nursing care. Takes X rays, EKG, Ultrasound, and performs various lab test including urinalysis and blood counts. Additionally, Veterinary Technician depending on state regulations, may administer anesthesia, injections, and perform dental prophylaxis, catheterization, and other procedures under supervision of a veterinarian. Instructs pet owners on how to administer medication and other animal care skills. Typically requires an associate degree. Depending on state, may require RVT certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Veterinary Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. To be a Veterinary Technician typically requires 3-5 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

We are currently looking for an experienced FT Veterinary Technician / Assistant. Monday through Friday availability from 7:30 am until 6pm. We are no longer open on Saturday but we still do cater to our feline boarding patients so those weekend shifts are rotated between our technical team members.
We are a well-equipped AAHA accredited FELINE only practice in need of candidates that are comfortable with:
*Assisting the Veterinarian in the exam room
*Performing digital radiology
*Drawing blood
*In house and reference lab experience
*Communicating with clients
*Therapy laser (if you don't have this skill...we can teach you!)
