Administers injections, performs venipunctures, applies wound dressings, cleans teeth, and takes vital signs of animal. Being a Veterinary Assistant requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified/licensed. Additionally, Veterinary Assistant is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision of a veterinarian. We are open 7 days a week, 10am-10pm, serving the greater Wauwatosa, WI community. In addition to being an emergency clinic, we also perform routine and preventative care. Our primary care services include, but not limited to: routine wellness exams, vaccines, flea/tick/heartworm prevention plans, weight management, certificates of veterinary inspection for travel, dental care with cleanings, and elective surgeries.

Job Summary: The Veterinary Assistant aids and supports the medical support team in the operation of an animal facility in accordance with Mission Veterinary Partners (MVP) hospital policy and procedures. The Veterinary Assistant also provides medical care to patients as allowed in the veterinary practice act.
