Dogwood Veterinary Clinic in Norton Commons is in search of a full time veterinary assistant. This is a new construction, start-up Veterinary hospital that opened in July 2019. We are in need of technicians and assistants who are passionate about animals and learning. Come be a part of an exciting, growing community in Norton Commons. At least one year veterinary experience preferred.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Assist the Veterinarian(s)
• Take pets weight and vital signs upon arrival
• Restrain animals during exams and procedures
• Feed, medicate, and care for hospitalized patients
• Assist during radiographic procedures
• Clean surgical instruments and sterilize surgical packs
• Clean hospital and kennels
• Assist with procedures and as needed
• fill prescription requests
• Assist technicians and doctors however necessary
• collect and submit lab samples
• place IV catheters and venipuncture

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong communication and leadership skills
• reliability and timeliness

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
