Veterinary Assistant prepares treatment room for examination of animals; restrains animals during examination, treatment, or inoculation. Administers injections, performs venipunctures, applies wound dressings, cleans teeth, and takes vital signs of animal. Being a Veterinary Assistant requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified/licensed. Additionally, Veterinary Assistant is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision of a veterinarian. About You:
We strongly believe that veterinary medicine is a team sport, and our ideal candidate is someone who feels the same. Communication is key in our industry, and we are looking for people who navigate both client and interpersonal communication with skill and ease. We are an experienced Veterinary Assistant who is already comfortable with handling/restraint, basic surgery prep, venipuncture, and assisting Veterinary Technicians in a clinical setting. Experience with EzyVet and is an additional plus, but not required. We highly value collaboration from all staff members, so please speak up as your input is not only valued but can make a difference. This candidate will be working with a general practice teams that works with exotics, so those with experience are a plus!
Anticipated Schedule:
This is a full-time position. Some Saturdays required.
