Vendor Quality Control Analyst evaluates vendor operations, products, and services for compliance with government and company quality standards. Conducts audits and testing of products, materials, and processes to measure effectiveness and compliance with company expectations. Being a Vendor Quality Control Analyst analyzes and monitors metrics and KPIs to suggest improvement initiatives. Works with vendors and identifies alternative vendors to mitigate risks and resolve problems. Additionally, Vendor Quality Control Analyst assists with drafting and negotiating service-level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are adequately defined. Prepares reports and updates on vendor status and quality. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Job Description: The quality inspector shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. The Inspector "must" have 10 years experience in-process and final inspections of IPC-A-610, 600 or 620 or equivalent J std manufactured components Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications. The inspector will be required to report inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer via web application. Requirements: Candidate must have minimum practical experience of 5 years to be considered performing First Article Inspections Review (FAIR’s) in accordance to the AS9102. in-process and final inspections on IPC-A-610, 600 or 620 or equivalent J std manufactured components is highly desired. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing with proficiency machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard. Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs). The candidate must have experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers. Experience performing standard and knowledge of applicable industry standards like using Microsoft Word and Excel. You must be comfortable working as an independent contractor (1099). Relocation is not available.
Pay rate will be commensurate with experience. 4 hr. minimum charged per day plus travel time and mileage reimbursement. Paid training. Overnight and meal reimbursement for travel over 150 miles round trip. Hours will be approximately 8-40 hours per week depending on experience and workload, Paid travel and overnight accommodations IAW government per diem when necessary. Must have cell phone.
