Job Overview

Our Vehicle Maintenance Mechanics duties include but not limited to:

Daily work functions consist of corrective maintenance repairs of heavy machinery, automobile and small engines. Active communication with internal staff and related departments to update status of repairs in progress. Create, update and monitor work orders in the maintenance management system. Load and unload materials within Vehicle Maintenance and Workshop operations. Assist in vehicle and heavy machinery schedule planning. Create and update required bus and heavy equipment reports, document task, parts cost, and downtime to support Vehicle Maintenance goals. Assist with work assignment. Previous heavy equipment, vehicle operation, and small engine repair experience preferred.

Duties

• Hands on mechanic work on company’s rolling stock:  heavy equipment, snowcats, snow removal equipment, trucks, buses, snowmobiles, etc.
• Operating snow removal equipment during winter months when called upon.
• Working with heavy equipment and vehicle parts
• Inventory control (equipment, tools, parts etc.)
• Repair fleet and Resort motorized equipment as assigned in order to provide optimal equipment availability, safety, useful life and running time.
• Record all mechanical work performed and keep up to date records as necessary in order to ensure accurate and complete maintenance histories.
• Follow all safety procedures and practices.
• Clean and organize shop bays, tools, parts areas and general shop facilities.
• This position works five days per week including all weekends and holidays during the winter operational season, and potentially an alternative workweek during non-winter months. Changes in schedule determined by Mountain Operations Manager.
• Support Vehicle Maintenance operation in multiple ways including but not limited to driving vehicles, picking up parts and materials as needed.
• Be prepared and able to potentially operate equipment i.e., snowmobiles and other off-road vehicles with proper training in potentially adverse weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Heavy equipment/diesel mechanic experience. 
• Can handle a fast paced, potentially high-pressure environment.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, any hours of the day, any days of the week.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Professional appearance. 
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Follow established policies and procedures.
• Possess a valid CA driver’s license.
• Be prepared and able to stand in a relatively stationary period for extended periods of time to perform specific maintenance functions.
