Vehicle Maintenance Manager assists with the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Assigns vehicles and drivers, prepares schedules, and oversees dispatch operations. Being a Vehicle Maintenance Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Vehicle Maintenance Manager develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. May administer insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participate in claim resolution. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Vehicle Maintenance Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. The ideal candidate will have expertise in landscape and golf course maintenance, skilled in welding, plumbing, electrical and HVAC repair, road repair, vehicle maintenance, and general maintenance, with a strong emphasis on preventive maintenance practices.
Responsibilities:
Welding:
Execute welding tasks to ensure the structural integrity of resort facilities.
Address welding needs promptly and efficiently, adhering to safety standards.
Golf Course Maintenance:
Collaborate in golf course maintenance and enhancement of the golf course, including landscaping and equipment upkeep.
Contribute to achieving high standards of course aesthetics and functionality.
Plumbing and Electrical and HVAC:
Perform repairs and installations for plumbing and electrical systems as needed.
Ensure the proper functioning of water supply, drainage, lighting, and electrical systems.
Road Repair:
Execute road repair and maintenance projects to ensure the safety and accessibility of roads throughout the resort.
Monitor and promptly address any issues related to road infrastructure. Experience with Heavy Equipment is a plus
Vehicle Repair:
Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on resort vehicles and equipment.
Coordinate with external vendors for specialized vehicle repairs when necessary.
General Maintenance:
Undertake general maintenance tasks, including carpentry, painting, and mechanical repair.
Participate in routine inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively.
Preventive Maintenance:
Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of resort facilities and equipment.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and perform routine maintenance tasks.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in maintenance, with expertise in welding, plumbing, electrical, HVAC work, golf course maintenance, road repair, vehicle maintenance, and general maintenance.
Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance principles.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Basic knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to maintenance activities.
Professional certifications are a plus
