Vehicle Maintenance Manager assists with the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Assigns vehicles and drivers, prepares schedules, and oversees dispatch operations. Being a Vehicle Maintenance Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Vehicle Maintenance Manager develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. May administer insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participate in claim resolution. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Vehicle Maintenance Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Vehicle Maintenance Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Maintenance Manager

    Highly visible role responsible for directing a group of Maintenance Supervisors in the installation, maintenance and repair of the entire facility and its equipment. Determines and executes strategies to reduce mechanical downtime and keep product flow and production lines running at maximum efficiency. Assists with the creation and management of the Capital, R&M, and department labor budgets. Responsible for the development and implementation of maintenance systems associated with High Performing Manufacturing Organizations (Preventative and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, etc.).

     

    Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

    Maintenance Systems Management CMMS

    • Responsible for the management of maintenance systems associated with high performing manufacturing organizations (Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance, TPM, etc.) while focusing on maximum plant capacity and minimizing cost.
    • Assigns proper scheduling of work to maximize task completion with minimal plant disruption. Leads efforts for reduction in unscheduled downtime while lowering costs and creating higher plant efficiency.
    • Directs the maintenance staff through a combination of delegation and hands on approaches as it relates to policy and procedure administration, development of training plans, assignment of work responsibilities, planning, organizing, and the direction of work along with proper follow up of the work assignment.
    • Promotes plant safety performance through administration, enforcement of company and plant policy and procedure and training consistent with the objectives of Monogram and in compliance with Federal and State agencies.
    • Accountable for providing short- and medium-term solutions and day to day support to all operating teams having issues with troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc.
    • Ensures the efficient daily operation of the plant with minimal repetitive issues.

    Preventive and Predictive Maintenance

    • Assists the Plant Engineer in developing and managing an effective Preventive and Predictive Maintenance program using the plant CMMS system and frequent review of plant performance measures.
    • Extracts and analyzes program data to ensure a constant state of continuous improvement.

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Maintains compliance with Key Performance Indicators for tracking and reporting the performance of the maintenance function (supplier performance, equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness, etc.).

    The Ideal Candidate will have the Following Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Possesses advanced technical skills in the mechanical / electrical fields (e.g. PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering, etc.) and is able to lead resource planning efforts in a large manufacturing environment.
    • Thorough knowledge of world class maintenance management systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, etc.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • High level of organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning skills.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of and the Internet. Well versed in the use of eMaint.
    • Strong interpersonal and technical skills required presentation skills preferred.
    • Will be required to work long hours and weekends as needed

    Physical Requirements:

    • Required to frequently stand and walk up to 8-10 hrs. per day.
    • Required to sit for long periods.
    • Work in both cold (freezer temperatures) and hot environments.
    • Must wear proper PPE including but not limited to steel to shoes or boots, smock, hair net, gloves etc.
    • May occasionally lift and or move up to 100 pounds.
    • Climb ladders and work at elevations above the ground while wearing appropriate PPE.
    • Climb and use catwalks while wearing appropriate PPE.
    • Must be able to bend, squat, twist and kneel.
    • Must be able to walk on slippery wet surfaces.
    • Must be able to work around smoke from fryers and or welding areas.
    • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
    • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear; walk or sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
    • While performing the duties of this class, the incumbent is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve complex problems; observe and interpret situations; use math and mathematical reasoning; deal with changing, intensive deadlines, and interact with officials and the public.
    • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly in a professional manner.
    • Must be 18 years or older.
