Vehicle Maintenance Manager assists with the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Assigns vehicles and drivers, prepares schedules, and oversees dispatch operations. Being a Vehicle Maintenance Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Vehicle Maintenance Manager develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. May administer insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participate in claim resolution. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Vehicle Maintenance Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Vehicle Maintenance Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor is a general operations position but is assigned to the Director of Transportation with a focus on that directorate’s needs. This position can perform and assist with a variety of tasks to assist the managing operations team and the directorate of Transportation. Some duties and responsibilities may have a higher focus than others depending on contract and company needs.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position may be responsible for the mentorship and training of several maintenance personnel in the Transportation department. Additionally this position may be called upon to supervise or site manage while on a job site. Supervisory duties include but are not limited to:
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and field environments. We operate 24/7/365, inside and outside, in all weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smart phones, tablets, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other presentation materials. There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Expectation of exposure to weather (heat, cold, rain, snow) as operations occur in all areas of the country with potential for overseas travel. Lifting of up to 75 lbs may occur. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position based in Raeford, NC. Typical office hours are Mon-Fri 7:00am-4:00pm Eastern Standard Time, however regular hours will be determined by supervisor, with flexibility upon request. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on contract needs. It is expected for this position to attend regular meetings during typical work hours in Eastern Standard Time as well as meetings as needed for assigned projects in other time zones.
Travel
This position requires up to 25% travel. Travel is dependent on contract load. Ability to travel to job sites and be away for extended periods of time based on contract needs is required. Short notice travel is required with 24-48 hours notice.
