Vehicle Maintenance Manager assists with the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Assigns vehicles and drivers, prepares schedules, and oversees dispatch operations. Being a Vehicle Maintenance Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Vehicle Maintenance Manager develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. May administer insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participate in claim resolution. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Vehicle Maintenance Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. Titan America has an immediate opening for a Concrete Maintenance Manager II located in Norfolk, VA. This position reports to the Area Manager and is responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance activities of the region’s ready mix plants and mobile equipment.
The primary function of this position is to provide direction and leadership to the Maintenance Department while ensuring the performance and safety standards are maintained within the region which includes optimization of the equipment reliability/productivity, utilization of system capability, implementation of process improvements, reducing plant costs, and providing effective leadership for the Maintenance Department.
Responsibilities:
· Drives maintenance schedule and tracks maintenance program performance versus Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); maintains equipment availability required to meet or exceed established key performance indicators
· Reviews overall maintenance results for compliance with safety and industry standards and specifications
· Ensures regulatory and environmental compliance with regard to all equipment, personnel, and facilities
· Updates, implements and optimizes plant and fleet preventive maintenance programs; makes improvements to processes to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime
· Leads, teaches, mentors, and manages maintenance team and work processes to establish and maintain standard operating procedures
Qualifications and experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent is required, college degree in related field preferred
· Previous experience in mobile equipment and ready mix concrete plant maintenance preferred
