Vehicle Maintenance Manager assists with the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Assigns vehicles and drivers, prepares schedules, and oversees dispatch operations. Being a Vehicle Maintenance Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Vehicle Maintenance Manager develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. May administer insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participate in claim resolution. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Vehicle Maintenance Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Vehicle Maintenance Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. SUMMARY:

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education: High school graduate with at least two years of verifiable experience in three of the following mechanical, machine shop, hydraulic, electrical or automation disciplines.
Experience: Should be able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic and mechanical schematics and apply them to repair equipment and to order necessary parts. Should be able to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and relay logic controls.

Supervision: Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager for job assignments and instructions. Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibility: Exercises moderate degree of judgment. Questionable matters referred to the supervisor for assistance.
