Vascular Technician performs ultrasound examinations of the cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation. Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results. Being a Vascular Technician may perform therapeutic procedures such as pseudoaneurysm compression. Requires an associate degree in medical sonography or equivalent. Additionally, Vascular Technician may require the Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential. Typically reports to a physician or manager. Vascular Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Regional Vascular and Vein Institute is a well-established, successful private practice consisting of a group of 4 vascular surgeons serving individuals throughout Stark and surrounding counties. We are looking for a committed professional to join our team and support our physicians in ensuring each patient is treated as an individual and receives the highest level of service while in our care.

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures including visceral vascular exams, extracranial duplex, AVF, arterial duplex, venous duplex, vein mapping, and venous insufficiency invasive exams as well as venous ablations and ultrasound guided sclerotherapy/Varithena.
    • Performs exams on all types of patients in an efficient and caring manner to provide data for the diagnosis of a wide variety of medical conditions.
    • Evaluates exams for diagnostic quality while using professional judgment in the performance of services.
    • Operates medical diagnostic ultrasound equipment to complete a variety of procedures including abdominal and vascular exams as applicable.
    • Consistently produces diagnostic quality exams, individualizing technical factors, following exam protocols, and utilizing proper patient positioning as required by each procedure.
    • Effectively uses computer systems to process, access and distribute appropriate department and patient procedure information.
    • Participates in providing education and information to patients and their families.
    • Participates in the clinical training of ultrasound students by providing instruction, supervision, and evaluation as required.
    • Participates in quality assurance/quality control activities as required.

    Education Requirements: 
    • Certification by ARDMS or CCI in the appropriate specialty (RVT/RVS eligible required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
    • CPR Certified.
    • Willing to look at newer grads with some experience.

    • Provides quality exams in this modality on a routine basis.
    • Ability to calibrate and operate the equipment.
    • Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment.

    • Ability to interact calmly and professionally in a fast-paced environment with colleagues and patients.
    • Ability to work as a team member.
    • Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
