Vascular Technician performs ultrasound examinations of the cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation. Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results. Being a Vascular Technician may perform therapeutic procedures such as pseudoaneurysm compression. Requires an associate degree in medical sonography or equivalent. Additionally, Vascular Technician may require the Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential. Typically reports to a physician or manager. Vascular Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Western Vascular Institute is looking for a Full-Time Surgical Scrub Tech to join our busy Vascular Clinic!
As a Surgical Scrub Tech, you will be assisting our Surgeons in our in-office Angio suite for peripheral interventions, carotid angiograms, and other endovascular studies. The ideal candidate is someone who can be assertive and confident. You must possess great decision-making skills, excellent time management, and the ability to effectivity communicate with multiple physicians and colleagues. You must be familiar with sterilization techniques and a self-starter.Responsibilities include but are not limited to;- Provide surgical scrub techniques and guidance to physicians performing vascular procedures.
- Assisting with the pre-op and post-op care of our patients
- Assist in the surgical preparation of all patients
- Assist in monitoring patient vitals during each case
- Make provision for instruments, supplies, and equipment required by scheduled surgical procedures
- Assure accurate documentation of counts, incidents, care notes, and surgical log
- Inspect the procedure room for preparedness
- Check the function of equipment anticipated to be used during the procedure
- Supply inventory tracking and management
- Ensure mandatory clinical guidelines for keeping a high standard of care in our angio-suite involving proper disposal of contaminated products and proper sanitization of the operating suite.
Skills- Knowledge of vascular procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service-oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- EMR knowledge: Centricity, FIVOS(Medstreaming) & NextGen
- Certified Surgical Tech is required
