Additionally, Van Driver may keep logs of vehicle maintenance. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a Valid Driver's License. May Require Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class B. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Van Driver works under moderate supervision. - Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
- Work with Operations Manager to optimize budget
- Liaise with drivers, employees, customer service, and transport companies
- Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
- Solve package and driver issues as they arise
- Drive company transit van to outer markets to deliver cargo to fleet of drivers
- Responsible for reconciling all drivers packages when distributing and collecting them
- Be able to frequently move boxes weighing up to 30-50 pounds
