Utilization Review Technician conducts utilization reviews to determine if patients are receiving care appropriate to illness or condition. Monitors patient charts and records to evaluate care concurrent with the patients treatment. Being a Utilization Review Technician reviews treatment plans and status of approvals from insurers. Collects and complies data as required and according to applicable policies and regulations. Additionally, Utilization Review Technician consults with nurses and physicians as needed. Position is non-RN. May require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. May require Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). The Utilization Review Technician gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Pay Rate: $16-$18 per hour depending on education and experience.
Experience Requirements:
Two years' experience working in case management or utilization review with at least one of those years of experience working with economically disadvantaged, vulnerable or at-risk youth and/or adults.
Must be 20 years old to apply. Pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check required.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Sociology, Psychology, Counseling or Criminal Justice/Criminology preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
The Case Manager for Camber Children's Mental Health (CCMH) ensures accuracy with utilization review, care management, discharge planning and other client specific data. They are responsible for the information flow to the internal treatment team including therapists, doctors and externally to the mental health liaison, parents and other relevant members of the treatment team. Schedule available is Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. The position has the possibility of becoming hybrid after three months if expectations are met.
