Utilization Review Coordinator jobs in West Virginia
Utilization Review Coordinator conducts utilization reviews to determine if patients are receiving care appropriate to illness or condition. Monitors patient charts and records to evaluate care concurrent with the patients treatment. Being a Utilization Review Coordinator reviews treatment plans and status of approvals from insurers. Collects and complies data as required and according to applicable policies and regulations. Additionally, Utilization Review Coordinator consults with physicians as needed. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. Typically requires Registered Nurse(RN). The Utilization Review Coordinator contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. The individual reports to the Director, Office of Research Integrity who is responsible for the oversight of the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Must possess excellent problem-solving skills; good computer skills with a variety of applications; and the ability to speak to groups of people.
Required QualificationsEducation- High School Degree/GED
Experience- At least two years related experience in research compliance administration – i.e., experience interpreting federal, state and institutional regulations
Preferred QualificationsEducation- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience- Certified IRB Coordinator (CIC) certificate or Certified IRB Manager (CIM) certification, or the ability to obtain a certification within 2 years.
