Utilization Management Director leads and directs the utilization review staff and function for a healthcare facility. Determines policies and procedures that incorporate best practices and ensure effective utilization reviews. Being a Utilization Management Director manages and monitors both concurrent reviews to ensure that the patient is getting the right care in a timely and cost-effective way and retrospective reviews after treatment has been completed. Provides analysis and reports of significant utilization trends, patterns, and impacts to resources. Additionally, Utilization Management Director consults with physicians and other professionals to develop improved utilization of effective and appropriate services. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to top management. Typically requires Registered Nurse(RN). The Utilization Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Utilization Management Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. We are looking for a Director of Targeted Case Management to play a key role in furthering our mission in our Case Management area.
Summary/Objective:- Responsible for all aspects of the Targeted Case Management program.
- Responsible for the full and pro-active compliance of the Goodwill Industries of Kansas (GWKS) Disabilities & Advocacy department to all applicable licensure, credentials, and certifications as required by reasonable expectation from regional partner CDDO’s and/or state/federal authorities.
- Coordination and implementation of CARF-related survey preparation, survey participation, communication, and completion required for CARF compliance of the Disability & Advocacy department.
- Ensure full and correct licensure and/or credentials required for the Targeted Case Management department are current and in effect.
- Responsible for a formal quality assurance program within the Targeted Case Management department to ensure proper and accurate billing services, accurate documentation, and CARF/licensure compliance.
- Ensure reliable and accurate Case Management billing to all relevant stakeholders.
- To fulfill Goodwill’s mission statement.
Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, Social Work, Education Psychology, or Human Services. Related experience may be considered for a portion of the formal education requirements.
Organizational Responsibilities:- Ensure excellence in service to individuals with disabilities and or barriers to employment and participate in the achievement of their goals.
- Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with GWKS policies and applicable laws.
- Customarily and regularly exercises discretionary authority and independent judgement.
- Directing work, evaluating employee efficiency and productivity, handling employee complaints and disciplining employees.
- Safety of all employees, clients, and property.
- Monitor compliance with SCDDO, CARF, KDADS, and any other applicable/assigned entity or partner.
- Collaborate in setting annual department budget and meet monthly and annual budget goals.
- Department staffing, including position interviews, new hire selection, and terminations.
- Demonstrate a positive role model.
- Display commitment and involvement towards Goodwill's mission.
