Utilization Management Director leads and directs the utilization review staff and function for a healthcare facility. Determines policies and procedures that incorporate best practices and ensure effective utilization reviews. Being a Utilization Management Director manages and monitors both concurrent reviews to ensure that the patient is getting the right care in a timely and cost-effective way and retrospective reviews after treatment has been completed. Provides analysis and reports of significant utilization trends, patterns, and impacts to resources. Additionally, Utilization Management Director consults with physicians and other professionals to develop improved utilization of effective and appropriate services. Requires a master's degree. Typically reports to top management. Typically requires Registered Nurse(RN). The Utilization Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Utilization Management Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Risk Management Director is responsible for directing the clinical risk management program and activities which include identification and mitigation of risk exposures, claims management, coordination of litigation, along with a wide range of proactive elements of patient safety activities that promote a culture of safety and prevent patient harm.


    What you will do in this role:


    • Your role will possess broad clinical knowledge and familiarity with hospital operations.
    • You will possess knowledge of and familiarity with healthcare-related regulatory and accreditation requirements
    • Your role provides direction / oversight for the risk management function for the campus.
    • You will effectively report, investigate, and analyze patient safety incidents, medical errors, and potential risks in the facility
    • Coordinates systems necessary for identification, evaluation, monitoring, reduction and/or elimination of risk exposures.
    • You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with comfort and the ability to relate to, collaborate with, and influence all levels of stakeholders – patients, physicians, staff.
    • Your role provides staff education related to risk management / patient safety as requested.


    What qualifications you will need:


    • Bachelor's degree in health-related field
    • State of TN RN; CPHRM preferred. CPPS required
    • 5 years healthcare experience (clinical experience preferred); 2 years clinical risk management preferred
