UTILITY PERSON constructs, maintains, and repairs overhead and underground transmission lines. Performs site preparation tasks, including digging holes or trenches, installing anchors, climbing poles, and using equipment like digger derricks, aerial lifts, pulling and tensioning equipment, forklifts, and dump trucks. Being a UTILITY PERSON installs wire and cable. Follows all safety regulations and procedures. Additionally, UTILITY PERSON work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Apprentice is generally part of a formal or informal on-the-job training program. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a valid Driver's License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The UTILITY PERSON works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. St. Anne Institute is hiring a Utility Person/Dishwasher for our Dietary Services Department.
This is a full-time 32-hour per week position with a starting hourly rate of $16.00.

FUNCTIONS:
Must be able to transfer meals to our Dorms, Schools, and Day Services Department and assist the Coordinator and cooks with the daily organization and operation of the agency Dietary Services Department.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Perform any combination of the following duties to maintain kitchen work areas and ensure equipment and utensils are clean and orderly:
o Sweep and mop floors in both kitchen and dining room as described in kitchen regulations
o Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators/coolers/freezers, appliances, dining room tables and chairs as needed
o Sanitize and remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers
o Sanitize grease trap and Hose out garbage cans daily
o Wash pots, pans, and trays
o Scrape food from dirty dishes and food trays and wash them in dishwashing machine
Perform any combination of following duties to maintain stock/supplies:
o Help transfer food bank food/supplies from truck/van to appropriate
storeroom/cooler/freezer
o Date and stock food supplies in appropriate storeroom/cooler/freezer.
o Ensure that stock is rotated appropriately
o Assemble daily food orders for units
Participate in all in-services and trainings as required/scheduled, including 16 hours towards the Professional Standards training requirements
Abide by the NYS Justice Center and the SAI Codes of Conduct/Ethics
Perform any duty assigned/required by the Dietary Services Coordinator or Cooks.
