PowerBI Power User to help with PowerBI Training

6 month Contract

Hybrid in Lansing, MI - onsite 3 days, home 2 days.

Looking for a PowerBI Power User to assist with developing course curriculum for Power App/Power BI/Data Visualization and/or Python training. Must be onsite 3 days a week in either Lansing MI

The PowerBI Power User is responsible for helping to teach users how to develop reports in PowerBU, help with developing technical curriculum, and facilitating technical courses. The PowerBU Power User will assist in analyzing the skills of current staff and tracking new developments and training opportunities at this client. In addition, they will assist with developing and maintaining relations with third-party vendors and assessing their course offerings.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Coordinates technical training for the client's IT department.


• Develops new course curriculum (ILT and e-Learning) with emphasis on appropriateness to the client's IT models and platforms.


• Teaches and facilitates courses to internal personnel.


• Learns new technical languages and materials.


• Oversees scheduling, registration, attendance and billing of courses.


• Schedules and maintains training facilities and supplies.


• Communicates and negotiates price and content with potential training vendors.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong knowledge and experience with one or more of the following:


• PowerBI Power User


• Adult education and knowledge of current research on the topic preferred.


• Multiple programming languages, tools and technologies.


• Various operating systems and environments.


• Excellent communication and presentation skills.


• Strong knowledge of software development processes and procedures.


• Excellent interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work with managers at various levels to recommend training solutions.


• Ability to reason and simplify complex processes.


• Strong knowledge of MS applications.


• Strong project management skills.


• Ability to travel between the client's various locations/offices as frequently as required to support training needs.


• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment to achieve desired results.


• Ability to work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and/or education. required.


• PowerBI


• 3 years of a combination of web, client-server, and mainframe programming knowledge preferred.


• UNIX and NT, Mainframe experience preferred.


• JAVA, C/C , COBOL, SQL, experience preferred.

This person will be teaching this class via MS Teams meetings. They will first help develop the course and then be the lead instructor.

Various levels of students from employees in the business unit that wants to learn more about data visualization to senior software engineers that are looking to expand their development skills.
