  • Position Summary

    Responsible for ensuring the overall effectiveness of the food outlets. Provides direction to all team members is these outlets on a daily basis.

    Provides empowerment to staff and shows dignity, kindness and respect. Involved in recruiting, interviewing, and screening applicants.

    Adherence to profit and loss versus budgeted numbers.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Provides preshift information to staff about company events, marketing campaigns, adherence to SOPs and opportunities for advancement.
    • Interviews applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements.
    • Ensures all areas of control are in compliance with Health Codes, OSHA standards, and all governmental agencies.
    • Computer skills to include Word and Excel.
    • Issues or witnesses corrective counseling sessions to team members.
    • Maintains department files that will be updated as necessary to include absences, tardy, behavior and corrective counseling.
    • Enacts and tracks all paperwork necessary for team members, such as weekly schedules.
    • Is a role model for team members and leaders; responds to questions positively and according to Company policy.
    • Recognizes and adapts to trends in the industry. Brings items forth to fit our theme and concept.
    • Work with communication devices such as telephones, email, walkie talkies, and computer.
    • Corresponds and speaks with guests to maintain great guest relations and provides opportunities for loyalty to occur.
    • Programming capabilities with Point of Sale system.
    • Responsible for all maintenance of equipment and supplies in the outlet, and for maintaining adequate supplies for all expected business volumes.
    • Maintains confidentiality and security of relevant information.
    • Maintains an awareness of applicable laws and operates within those guidelines.

    Job Specifications

    • Two (2) years in management in a high-volume food service position.
    • Demonstrated record of successful interpersonal skills in regards to working with diverse people and levels of authority.
    • Multi-task ability.
    • Knowledge and experience with computers and software programs to include word processing and spreadsheet packages such as Word for Windows and Excel Spreadsheets.
    • Must have the ability to work with the payroll and the inventory system.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
    • This position requires sufficient experience, education and job knowledge to meet current business needs.

    Job Qualifications

    The Ox Pub Host will minimally possess a high school diploma or equivalent. This position requires someone who is organized, comfortable communicating effectively with others and is a good time manager.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Greets on arrival and regards on departure to Guests visiting the Ox Pub dining room in a warm and inviting manner.
    • Is able to work in a fast paced, stressful environment while being calm, collected and accurate with attention to detail.
    • Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Greet internal and external guests in a warm tone and smile, with eye contact. Present and maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
    • Work safely, with sanitation, efficiency, and with guest’s loyalty in mind.
    • Is a role model for the company and responds to questions positively.
    • Must be detail oriented and ensure that all items are correct, perhaps hundreds of times over.
    • Ensures and maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the host podium and ensures the dining room floor is presentable at all times.
    • Maintains confidentiality and security of relevant information.
    • Works with communication devices such as telephones, two-way radio, guest paging system, and both computerized and manual table management system.
    • Interacts and speaks with guests to maintain great guest relations and provide opportunities for loyalty to occur.
    • Demonstrated record of successful interpersonal skills in regard to working with diverse people and levels of authority.
    • Must be able to work any shift needed and is a minimum of 18 years of age
    • Must attain a TIPS certification according to Casino and State guidelines.
    • Multi-task ability and able to complete all tasks with minimal supervision and show a sense of urgency no matter what the business volume.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Shows dignity, kindness and respect to guests and Team Members.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

    At other times, the work requires some physical exertion, such as reaching, standing and walking.

    • Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures, SOPs.
    • Show great teamwork with all.
    • Assists in the deliverance and dispensing of items ordered by guests service orders; beverages and food.
    • Uses equipment such as coffee and iced tea makers and soda, juice, and milk dispensers.
    • Is a role model for the company and responds to questions positively.
    • Must be detail oriented and ensure that all items are correct, perhaps hundreds of times over, in the food outlet(s).
    • Work with communication devices such as telephones, bulletin boards, and pagers.
    • Must speak with guests to maintain great guest relations and provides opportunities for loyalty to occur.
    • Push carts of dishes approximately 100 feet; stock plates, glasses, cups, and needed products.
    • Maintains confidentiality and security of relevant information.

    Maintains an awareness of applicable laws and operates within those guidelines.

    Essential Job Functions-Kitchen Expeditor

    • Interpret food orders coming through kitchen printer from dining room Organize orders for service
    • Prepares food trays from completed kitchen line items and organize on trays for service staff to serve
    • Prepares and serve appropriate side sauces with kitchen items
    • Keeps station and kitchen service area neat and organized
    • Keeps beverage service and food service trays neat, clean and organized
    • Maintains strict quality control on all food being served Food is at proper temperatureFood is well presentedProper accompaniments are in place with meals
    • Maintains server drop off and pick up areas of kitchen to make sure they are clean and functional. These areas include : Wine / beer service areasDishwasher stationExpo StationServer Salad Station

    • Cleans and polishes tableware of spots, prebusses.
    • Delivers and dispenses items ordered by guests; serves beverages, food, and non-food items via tray service.
    • Guest banking all dining room checks.
    • Use point of sale equipment to enter orders for kitchen personnel.
    • Uses equipment such as coffee brewers, iced tea makers, and juice, soda, and milk dispensers.
    • Service area and number of cover requirement to be determined.
    • Must bus tables in a timely manner to accommodate new business if needed.
    • Is a role model for the company and responds to questions positively.
    • Must be detail oriented and ensure that all items are set correctly, perhaps hundreds of times over, in the restaurant and the side areas.
    • Must work with communication devices such as telephones, and policy systems.
    • Must speak with guests to maintain great guest relations and provides opportunities for loyalty to occur.
    • Maintains confidentiality and security of relevant information.
    • Maintains an awareness of applicable laws and operates within those guidelines.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    May need to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
