Position Title: Retail Store Supervisor
Reports to: Customer Success Manager
Summary:
Develop and maintain professional relationships with retail customers and school contacts. Recruit, train and lead an outstanding team of sales associates. Deliver an excellent shopping experience, manage inventory effectively and control operating and labor budgets.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee all in-store daily activities to achieve sales, service, and profitability goals
- Provide coaching and direction on a day-to-day basis to ensure productivity of the team.
- Understand all aspects of each school’s uniform program requirements and other school-related data required to properly service the school and its shoppers
- UPL, specific program details and Web store
- Nature of school, parents, and administration
- Product components including sizing, manufacturing specifics, design details and product care
- Inventory availability
- Retain 100% of accounts.
- Develop plans and executable strategies to reach store goals. Continually track performance and communicate regularly with the team to evaluate progress and accomplishments.
- Hire, train, evaluate and coach staff as necessary to maintain excellent service and quality.
- Provide ongoing training in the areas of customer service, product knowledge, inventory management and visual merchandising.
- Staff store adequately to ensure a positive shopping experience while maintaining labor budget objectives.
- Generate and implement motivational incentives for the sales staff. Track employee results and modify goals accordingly.
- Audit the visual standards. This includes maintaining merchandising guidelines, stock levels and cleanliness.
- Proactively identify and communicate stock level concerns to corporate.
- Through training and audit processes, verify accuracy of opening and closing procedures, cashiering and returns, stockroom operations and all other functions related to store operations.
- Resolve store level customer service issues within 24 hours and escalate as necessary for resolution
- Interface with Customer Service, Retail Store Managers, Planning and Corporate as needed to deliver an outstanding experience to customers
- Serve as local contact and on-site liaison to school contacts and assisting with various aspects of account maintenance (e.g., accommodating special shopper needs for product or store access)
- Conduct all local on-campus events
- Manage/Assist at on-campus events company wide as required
- Run local pop-up locations as specified
- Provide a safe and compliant working environment
- Sustain a high professional standard in individual behavior, courtesy and respect
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist with recording and maintaining account information in Salesforce
- Communicate to the Customer Success Manager on a weekly basis providing relevant market information as well as store and employee success with regards to sales and customer experience.
- Motivate and develop staff to build bench strength.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
Three years of retail management experience with proven record of effective hiring, inventory management, budgeting and delivering excellent customer service.
Experience in developing and implementing operational process improvements in a growing environment.
Proficiency with available tools and technology including but not limited to Excel, Microsoft Office suite,
Salesforce, and calendar/e-mail applications.
Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer skills, MS Word and Excel, with the ability to quickly learn custom programs
- Ability to stoop, bend and stand for long periods of time
- Capable of carrying and climbing, while sometimes lifting stock weighing as much as 25 pounds
- Job will require hours that often exceed 8 hours per day and or /45 hours per week during peak periods.
