Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Underwriting Assistant. In this role, you will provide crucial support to our underwriting team by performing various administrative tasks and ensuring the smooth flow of operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
What you will do:
•Accurately enter and update client information, policy details, and other relevant data into the underwriting system.
•Maintain and organize underwriting files and documentation, ensuring completeness and compliance with company policies.
•Assist in preparing and sending communication to clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
•Respond to routine inquiries and requests for information, directing complex issues to the relevant team.
•Support underwriters in reviewing policies and applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Identify discrepancies or missing information and collaborate with the underwriting team to resolve issues.
- Ensuring files are all named and saved in a consistent format.
•Provide general administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the underwriting department.
•Assist in addressing customer inquiries and concerns, providing information on policies and procedures.
•Other duties and projects as assigned by the team.
What experience you will bring:
•Bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, or a related field preferred.
•Proven experience in an administrative support role, preferably within an insurance or underwriting environment.
•Knowledge of insurance industry practices and underwriting processes.
•Active insurance license, or willing to obtain license within 90 days of hire.
•Must have familiarity and good working knowledge of various Microsoft software applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams), Agency Management Systems (AMS 360, Epic, Britecore, Salesforce), and the ability to learn new software systems.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
•Demonstrates strong organizational and project management skills. Exudes confidence and sound technical knowledge.
•Willingness to learn and continue to grow as an insurance professional in an entrepreneurial environment.
