Decides on appropriate premium rates and issues coverage. Being an Underwriter (P/C) provides customer services regarding underwriting processes and decisions. May communicate with field agents to gather additional information or to explain underwriting decisions. Additionally, Underwriter (P/C) typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Underwriter (P/C) work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.
