    How you will contribute:

    • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency for all the case setting up for Stop Loss Clients.

    • Evaluate, price, and propose rate and strategy on Stop Loss new business within stated authority limits.

    • Evaluate, price, and recommend strategy on business outside stated authority limits.

    • Manage assigned workload to meet internal productivity and time service standards as well as regional SLS priorities.

    • Formulate a successful strategy to write cases within general underwriting guidelines.

    • Independent decision making on fundamental problems within specific rules and utilizing general underwriting guidelines.

    • Resource for other underwriters and the field.

    • Analyzes information on industry, demographics, and other standard criteria.

    • Required to work effectively in a high volume, transaction-oriented environment.

    • Determines level of risk based on well established guidelines.

    • Quotes appropriate rates to field agents or brokers.

    • Build and maintain effective working relationship with assigned inside sales specialists, Stop Loss Specialists, and brokers. This includes clearly understanding and appreciating the significance of broker relationships, demonstrating a professional, service focused orientation in interactions with brokers and customers and understanding SLF's guidelines.

    • Ensure there is effective support to inside sales by acting as a full team member and providing critical support as needed to all phases of the sales process.

    • Input customer logistics to enable generation of the quote.

    • Identify and obtain missing information material for assessment and/or pricing of the risk.

    • Verify customer information within the system to ensure accuracy.

    • Supports the identification and development of best practices workflows and procedures.

    • Provides technical support.

    What you will bring with you:

    • Bachelor's degree Preferred

    • Underwriting experience desired, but not required

    • Requires strong time management skills

    • Requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Strong math, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills required

    • Demonstrates multi-tasking ability

    • Ability to negotiate with people

    • Must be detail oriented, well organized and have the ability to manage a high-volume workload with competing demands

    • Demonstrated experience in accurate and proficient data entry

    • Requires strong Microsoft Excel and Word knowledge

    If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is:

    • Southern region: $62,100 - 93,200 annually

    • Central region: $65,400 - 98,100 annually

    • Northern region: $69,900 - 104,900 annually

    If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $59,200 - 88,800 annually.

    If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $69,900 - 104,900 annually.

    If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is $65,400 - 98,100 annually.

    • The full range minimum and maximum listed in the job posting is tied to the GCF level and job family.
