$2,500 sign on bonus

Full Time, 36 hours per week

Job Overview:

The Ultrasound Technologist will take radiographic and sonographic images while performing a diagnostic imaging examination.

Duties:

• Assesses patient and their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.
• Explains and prepares the patient for all radiographic procedures.
• Interviews patients and reviews available clinical data from charts in order to alert nurses and/or physicians to possible contradictions for procedure.
• Communicates with providers on types of x-rays and ultrasound that can be done at JVCHC.
• Downloads reports and distributes them daily.
• Keep disc for records storage.
• Orders UPT as needed on female patients.
• Must have working knowledge of electronic medical records and how to navigate within the system to retrieve material.
• Conducts ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and records anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
• Assists physician during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.
• Maintains patient charts and records and records and processes sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the procedure for presentation to interpreting physician.
• Code appropriate CPT, ICD9, and ICD10 and submit billing for services performed.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited sonography program.
• One year work experience required in a similar field. Additional education may be substituted for years of experience.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
• Registered RT and state licensed.
• ARRT license.
