Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Sigma Healthcare team is currently looking for a Ultrasound Technologist to work onsite at our client's healthcare facility in Concord, NH.

    EMR Used: Cerner

    Shifts : Monday - Thursday 8:00PM to 6:30Am

    Summary:

    Under the supervision of the Director, Chairman, Manager, or Chief, the Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound imaging procedures and related techniques resulting in the interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Follows professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements.

    Education:

    Graduate of, or within six months of graduation, a Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

    Two year course in a patient care related allied health field prior to Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Education preferred.

    Certification, Registration & Licensure:

    Registration required: Current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (US) or registry eligible OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (S) or eligible.

    Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association.

    Licensure required: Licensed and Certified by the NH Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy

    Certification required to obtain: ARDMS required within 2 years of hire.

    Responsibilities:

    Performs Ultrasound, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures in accordance and within the scope of practice and departmental standards.

    Assesses pertinent information, prepares and educates patient for procedures and expectations.

    Completes documentation of patient care and procedure.

    Demonstrates proficiency in utilization of the hospital and departmental information, technology systems and equipment operations.

    Maintains a level of productivity, adaptability, flexibility and timeliness in managing workload and processes required to meet patient care and department needs.

    Adheres to department policy and procedures and practices modality specific safety protocols.

    Actively engages in departmental meetings, modality meetings and committee initiatives.

    Completes hospital, departmental, and professional requirements. Participates in assignments, duties and responsibilities for continuous improvement in alignment with management and organizational goals.
