Ultrasound Technologist jobs in Lees Summit, MO

Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Responsibilities

    We are looking for a compassionate and skilled ultrasound technician to be responsible for operating sonographic scanners to capture images of patients' internal organs and expectant mothers' developing fetuses. The ultrasound technician may specialize or work in a broad array of specialties including obstetric and gynecological ultrasounds, and neurological, breast, heart, or abdominal sonography. You may also assist radiologists with vascular ultrasound procedure and ultrasound-guided biopsies.

    To be a successful ultrasound technician, you should have excellent patient service and technical skills, as well as a strong working knowledge of anatomy and pathology. You should have strong problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills.

    Qualifications

    Education and Work Experience

    1. RDMS (ARDMS) or S (ARRT) certification in at least one body or region required within 90 days of hire and maintain.
    2. Graduate an accredited ultrasound program or current certification as identified in #1 and graduation within 90 days of hire.
    3. Previous experience preferred.
    4. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate.
    5. Proficient computer skills
