Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. To be an Ultrasound Technologist typically requires 2 -4 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

    Job Summary and Qualifications

    As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be part of our friendly and compassionate Ultrasound team. We are proud to provide the “care like family” mission of the hospital. We are looking for someone to join our team that works hard to support each other where the patients are the center of all we do.

    In this role:

    • You will perform a variety of Ultrasound Procedures and are responsible for exam protocols that provide diagnostic information to the interpreting physician.
    • You must have a working knowledge of the life-saving techniques and be capable of performing well under pressure.
    • You will assume the responsibility for specified examinations and will be responsible for introducing the basics of ultrasound to the student technologists.
    • You will be responsible for assessment, treatment of care appropriate to all ages of patients served.
    • You will demonstrate your knowledge and skills in obtaining and interpreting information in terms of the patients’ needs. 

    What qualifications you will need:

    • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
    • Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or Ultrasonographer, or Registered Vascular Technician (RVT), or RDMS OB/GYN Specialty

    Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a full-service hospital with 318 patient beds. Our hospital is the largest medical facility in the region. We serve southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park, and parts of Montana. Our facility has an ER, a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (one of two in Idaho), and the only Burn Center in the state of Idaho.
