Ultrasound Technologist jobs in Hammond, IN

Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     As a Ultrasound Technologist at CompuRay Medical, you will have the opportunity to work 8, 10,12, -hour day shifts Monday-thru-Friday. . Orientation/training provided.

    Summary of Essential Duties:

    • Accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions
    • Administer contrast material.
    • Prepare and operate Ultrasound equipment (training provided)
    • Ability to position patient to capture appropriate images.
    • Vascular, OB/GYN experience
    • Send images to Radiologist for interpretation/reading.
    • Follow infection control and safety guidelines.

    Education:

    • Graduate of a two-year approved School of Ultrasound Technology program required

    License/Certifications:

    • ARDMS required.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 1 years of experience as a Ultrasound Technologist required.
