Ultrasound Technologist jobs in Des Moines, IA
Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. To be an Ultrasound Technologist typically requires 2 -4 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

ResponsibilitiesAccurately performs diagnostic exams of patients using a holistic approach in accordance with quality control regulations in a professional and courteous manner. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative.
QualificationsGraduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology School or ARRT registered.
ARDMS Registered/Eligible.
Maintain ARRT or ARDMS CEU requirements.
