UNIX Systems Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organization's UNIX operating systems and all related systems or software. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware/software and applications software and ensures scalability and appropriate integration with other systems. Being an UNIX Systems Administrator detects, diagnoses, and reports UNIX related problems on both UNIX server and UNIX desktop systems. Responsible for backup or recovery procedures. This role centers around designing, engineering, implementing, and supporting infrastructure systems, including telecommunications, voice, videoconference, internet, electronic messaging, network, virtual, cloud, storage, server, workstation, database, and print systems. Responsibilities:
Designing and engineering infrastructure systems to meet the organization's needs
Implementing and supporting rotation strategies for various infrastructure systems
Developing, applying, and maintaining backup policies and systems for all data infrastructure
Establishing procedures and providing support for managing network users, user environments, directories, and permissions management
Providing senior-level expertise to define strategies for and lead complex infrastructure projects
Managing the implementation of security policies that impact infrastructure systems
Taking ownership of Active Directory and related systems including ADFS, Azure AD, DHCP, DNS, Network Policy Server, OU Structures, Group Policy, and DFS Replication
Applying thorough knowledge of firewalls, web application firewalls, network segmentation, IPS/IDS, SSL certificates.
Using skills in Cisco Technologies, Database, Dell Technologies, EO/IR systems, Linux Technologies, Active Directory, Backup Technologies, Computer Hardware, Configuration Management, Deployments, Azure Active Directory, Basic Network Troubleshooting, Microsoft Server, LAN Vs. WAN, Cisco VPN, IP Addressing, Vmware Infrastructure, Backup administration.
Requirements
Must possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the Financial Services industry, specifically as a Systems Administrator Demonstrable skills in Cisco Technologies, Database, Dell Technologies, EO/IR systems, Linux Technologies, Active Directory, and Backup Technologies Proficient in working with Computer Hardware, Configuration Management, Deployments, Azure Active Directory, and Basic Network Troubleshooting Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server, LAN Vs. WAN, Cisco VPN, IP Addressing, Vmware Infrastructure, and Backup administration Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to solve complex system issues Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred Relevant professional certifications would be a plus Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest degree of professional standards Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
