UNIX Administrator installs, configures, and maintains UNIX operating systems. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with the operating system's servers, hardware, applications, and software. Being an UNIX Administrator detects, diagnoses, and reports UNIX related problems on servers. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Additionally, UNIX Administrator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an UNIX Administrator typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2019 and Linux-based operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 and later).
Strong knowledge of virtualization: Azure workload.
Familiarity with hardware technology and the global, regional, and local hardware architecture, including virtual servers.
Prior experience working with Docker and Kubernetes, preferred but not required.
Prior experience working with enterprise networks, public cloud networks, security management tools, and mobile equipment for an enterprise comprised of numerous sites and hundreds of end users.
Azure Active Directory experience a plus.
System Maintenance, including server hardware, storage, security systems, Active Directory, Azure AD, Azure, and related software.
Complete troubleshooting and provide all levels of support, including elevations as necessary.
Analyze and troubleshoot computer equipment and software.
Manage and implement certificate authority for servers and applications.
Monitor regular systems management and maintenance, both on premise and cloud resources.
Administer upgrades of hardware, software, and networking equipment.
