Tumor Registrar identifies, registers, and maintains records of all cancer patients using tumor registry systems and software. Prepares abstracts and performs coding of clinical patient data related to cancer. Being a Tumor Registrar performs data analysis and provides reports used by researchers, physicians, institutions, and patients. Adheres to all coding and privacy policies, guidelines, and regulations. Additionally, Tumor Registrar may require an associate degree or equivalent. Requires Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential. May require Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tumor Registrar works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     VACANCY NOTICE
    POSITION TITLE: Registrar (ANTICIPATED)
    BUILDING(S): East Aurora High School
    CLASSIFICATION: Secretary II
    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months. Monday-Friday: 8 hours/day.
    IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Principal or Designee
    EVALUATION PROCEDURES: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. High School diploma or equivalent.
    2. Intermediate knowledge of computers and software programs (specifically
    Microsoft Office Suite and Infinite Campus).
    3. Accurate data entry skills.
    4. Excellent organizational skills.
    5. Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
    6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    7. Ability to manage multiple priorities.
    8. Ability to work with a linguistically and culturally diverse public.
    JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Perform complex statistical record-keeping duties related to the evaluation,
    preparation, modification and maintenance of student records.
    2. Establish and maintain permanent student records and related file system
    (cumulative files).
    3. Process records for the Deferred Action/Dream Act Program for current and
    former students.
    4. Request records for new students (academic and medical).
    5. Enter new student information from transcripts, such as courses and grades, into
    Infinite Campus.
    6. Process student withdrawals. Compile withdrawal report, update students' records
    in Infinite Campus, and send academic and medical records to students' new
    schools.
    7. Prepare transcripts for current students applying to colleges and/or for
    scholarships.
    8. Maintain permanent record information in files and on computer.
    9. Verify student information for various entities (i.e., social security, military court
    orders, etc.).
    10. Enter grade changes, grades for outplacement students, ACT scores, summer
    school enrollments and final grades in Infinite Campus.
    11. Plan, organize, maintain and update a variety of files, records and databases.
    12. Assist with the registering of new students entering the district.
    13. Greet visitors and students, provides appropriate information or assistance, or
    refers to appropriate staff.
    14. Answer incoming telephone calls, provides appropriate information or take
    message and refers to appropriate staff.
    15. Safeguard confidential information as specified in the Illinois School Code.
    16. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.
