    The Junior Trust Operations Specialist will be responsible for processing the movement of money and performing operational support duties of the Middle Office Financial Group.  The role will report to the Manager of the Middle Office.  This is a full-time position and the individual selected for this role will be required to work from the Citizens Bank Johnston Rhode Island location full time (this is not partially or fully remote position).  It is expected that the individual fulfilling this role will continually gain more knowledge and skills through practice and mentorship, and with strong results-oriented performance will eventually be promoted into a Senior Operations Specialist role with increased and more complex responsibilities (e.g., approving money movement, approving reports and client communications, problem research and resolution, etc.).

    Colleague must be detail-oriented, process work with a high degree of accuracy while following established processes and procedures and within short deadlines.  They must also have an aptitude for identifying and escalating issues appropriately and quickly as well as be able to switch to different tasks with different processes frequently. 

    The following job responsibilities apply to day-to-day work, additional work will be assigned as determined by the Middle Office Manager or Assistant Manager/Team Lead.

     Primary Job Responsibilities:

    • Check deposit processing (e.g., scanning, entering in system, obtaining approval of entry, and notifying relationship managers)
    • Prepare and mail client materials in an accurate, complete and professional manner and obtain approval from Senior Trust Operations Specialist or Middle Office Assistant Manager/Team Lead
    • Account change confirmations
    • Escheatment Letters
    • Probate Letters, receipts and packages
    • Other ad hoc mailings
    • Escalate discrepancies and customer inquiries in an accurate and timely manner to Senior Trust Operations Specialist or Middle Office Assistant Manager/Team Lead
    • Process operational settlement wires
    • Monitor and track incoming and outgoing transfer of securities, verifying the accuracy of information completed by another colleague or vendor
    • Prepare costs basis report for asset transfers and send to custodians for processing
    • Prepare reporting, conduct reconciliations and validations as requested by Middle Office Manager or Assistant Manager/Team Lead
    • Provide coverage for other operational staff during peak times and vacation
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Middle Office Manager or Assistant Manager/Team Lead

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • 1 years securities operations experience preferred
    • Strong research and problem-solving skills
    • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
    • Strong computer skills - Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, etc.
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
    • Flexible team player
    • Willingness to adapt to an ever-changing environment

    Additional Skills/Knowledge

    • Attention to detail and understanding of importance of data accuracy
    • Ability to identify issues and escalate quickly and appropriately for resolution
    • Aptitude for learning and working in a team environment
    • Ability to perform responsibilities accurately and independently in a fast paced multitask environment
    • Ability to prioritize and handle large inflows of workload during peak processing times

    Hours & Work Schedule

    • Hours per Week: 40
    • Work Schedule: M-F 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM on site
