    Job Summary: As the Program and Operations Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the successful implementation of ABCLT’s housing programs as well as ensuring that the organization is running effectively and efficiently. This position is based in Asheville, NC with some evenings and weekends as required to attend meetings and events.

    Primary responsibilities:

    Operations Management (40%)

    • Develop and revise internal policies, procedures, and processes as necessary for the successful functioning of the ABCLT team.
    • Establish, analyze, and enhance organizational systems to maximize internal efficiency and external impact.
    • Staff and co-manage board and committees in collaboration with the Executive Director.
    • Serve as the organization’s main point of contact and coordinator for volunteers.
    • Assist the Executive Director with other duties as assigned.

    Program Management (30%)

    • Work with homeownership, home repair, and property tax relief applicants throughout the program process.
    • Work with ABCLT staff on planning and implementing homeownership orientation sessions.
    • Monitor housing-related program outcomes and plan program adjustments accordingly.

    Community Engagement (30%)

    • Educate the community about permanent affordability and increase awareness of ABCLT’s programs by having a presence at community events.
    • Participate in housing-related meetings and activities to stay informed about relevant happenings in Buncombe County.
    • Engage with community, nonprofit, and other organizations to recruit program applicants.
    • Develop partnerships with other organizations in order to strengthen our ability to refer residents to external housing resources.

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Four or more years of successful experience in social work, real estate, affordable housing, community development or a related field.
    • At least two years of project, program, and/or team management.
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in sociology, social work, real estate or a related field. Equivalent field experience can substitute for a degree.
    • Self-motivated individual with the drive to keep going even in the face of set-backs.
    • Critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret, evaluate, and analyze facts and information.
    • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • High degree of adaptability and flexibility.
    • History of working in a collaborative environment and building relationships in the community.
    • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Knowledge and/or experience of Asheville’s history around urban renewal.
    • Knowledge of and/or experience with the public and/or non-profit sector.
    • Experience working with affordable housing programs and/or organizations.
    • Experience working with start-up and/or grassroots organizations.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    • Full-time at 32 hours per week
    • Hybrid work environment
    • $55,000-65,000 annual salary
    • 13 paid holidays

    • Monthly $40 cell phone stipend
    • Mileage reimbursement based on the federal rate
