Trust Clerk creates and maintains trust account records, notices and reports. Prepares expense checks and may administer charge fees according to the requests of account administrator. GENERAL SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of accounting transactions such as invoices, payments and expenses in accordance with department procedures. Maintains vendor files. Checks and verifies accounting data; enters data into computerized accounting system. Performs various clerical and routine accounting tasks.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Match check requests from clients with appropriate back-up documents. Verify that the price/cost, quantity, and description of goods/services, as shown on the invoices, agrees with check requests.
B. Process invoices authorized by clients by verifying that proper approval have been obtained and that appropriate supporting documentation is attached.
C. Process checks and voids as required.
D. Match check copies with invoices to ensure that disbursements are made in the correct amount to the appropriate vendor.
E. Maintain open accounts payable file and other accounts payable records.
F. Acts as company courier for pickup and delivery of mail, courier envelopes, small packages, and file boxes.
G. Complies with all traffic laws and drives safely.
F. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
A. High school diploma or GED.
B. Academic coursework or experience in finance/accounting or economics.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
A. Knowledge of accounting principles and systems preferred.
B. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, i.e., Word and Excel.
C. Ability to perform simple accounting procedures.
D. Ability to perform data entry and/or word processing.
E. Ability to prepare and carry out routine accounting tasks.
F. Ability to use an automated accounting system.
G. Employment background screening required
H. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and move, bend or stretch abiding by proper techniques and standards to avoid injury.
I. Must have own automobile, current California driver’s license and current automobile insurance as required by the State of California.
J. Automobile required for daily use in order to transport office supplies, equipment and furniture as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Accounts Payable & Courier Supervisor and the Assistant Controller
Pay Rate:
$20.80/hr
