Trust Clerk creates and maintains trust account records, notices and reports. Prepares expense checks and may administer charge fees according to the requests of account administrator. Being a Trust Clerk may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Trust Clerk may require 0-1 year of general work experience. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in the performance of tasks related to Trust Department account record keeping, including income and expense processing, customer disbursements, maintenance of tickler system and reporting for trust accounts as outlined in trust agreements. Tasks will include compiling, processing, and balancing information in compliance with department guidelines.
• Receive and answer telephone, mail and/or personal inquiries from current and potential customers regarding the Trust Department’s products and services.
• Prepare and type a variety of correspondence, forms, and reports. Open and distribute mail.
• Assist in maintaining Trust Department filing system, including opening new accounts, closing accounts, filing information as received and maintaining record per retention policy.
• Learn how to monitor and post all fees to accounts.
• Develop expertise in generating committee and team packets and minutes.
• Set up recurring remittances to or for trust customers.
• Assist in maintaining real estate compliance.
• Assist with customer meetings, and preparing meeting booklets, maintaining booklet supplies, and placing meeting booklets on iPads.
• Assist with special projects.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the Bank’s products and services in order to refer customers and potential customers to branch personnel.
ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus additional bank related training; or one to two years trust or secretarial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
