    The Trust Officer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the establishing of personal trust, agency, and estate accounts and for managing the day-to-day account activities in a manner that would ensure compliance with bank’s trust policy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. In addition, this position will perform limited operational functions.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for day-to-day performing duties related to personal trust, agency, and estate administration accounts
    • Offer to and participate in educational opportunities for staff both in-house and at appropriate schools and seminars
    • Meet with clients to review trust, estate, and investment services offered by Personal Trust area in addition to working with clients to review their individual accounts, answer client questions, and resolve problems concerning their account
    • Review account transactions and cash balances on a daily basis for accounts assigned
    • Present selection of investment options to trust clients. Identify client’s investment objective and match with investment products. Research and solve customers’ investment and trust administrative needs
    • Work with accountants to ensure that annual tax returns are prepared timely and accurately for each trust and estate
    • Manage the assets of accounts in accordance with applicable laws, the terms of the instrument, and consistent with the needs of the principals and beneficiaries
    • Analyze and interpret, with the aid of counsel when appropriate, legal documents to determine the bank’s duties and responsibilities
    • Perform annual or more frequent inspections of real estate in assigned accounts. In addition, monitor income from rental property, property tax liability, insurance coverage, and documentation requirements for real estate held
    • Prepare and submit client account administrative and investment reviews, as appropriate, in accordance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements for assigned accounts
    • Ensure that personal trust and estate administration accounts are administered in accordance with the trust instrument or other legal document and all legal and regulatory requirements
    • Assist with the production of documentation and responses to regulatory examinations and audits
    • Assist with the development of written trust policies, procedures, guidelines, and forms as needed and communicate same to the staff
    • Prepare and submit quarterly Renasant Engaged referral reports
    • Prepare annual Reg R analysis and quarterly Schedule RC-T
    • Quarterly track all Unique Assets and Concentrations to ensure they follow policy
    • Assist in the preparation of the monthly trust budget and accrual reports in Excel for review by Director of Fiduciary Risk Management and for submission to the Control Department
    • Assist with the compilation of data and the filing of the SEC 13-F
    • Assist with the tracking and reporting requirements related to the DOL PTE 2020-02
    • Compile data to be presented at the various department and Board level committees
    • Participate in or manage special projects which may occur from time to time and assist the Director of Trust Services and the Director of Wealth Management (“Directors”) as needed
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Minimum of 5 years of trust department experience
    • Ability to interact in a positive, professional manner with customers
    • Knowledge of investment, estate planning, and tax issues
    • Knowledge of applicable software programs such as Excel, Word, etc.
    • Knowledge of office equipment and procedures
