What you will be doing:
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADFG) is recruiting a full-time Grants Administrator 1 for its Grants and Contracts unit within the Division of Administrative Services. Under the supervision of the grant coordinator, the position's primary responsibility will be to monitor the department's exempt contracts during the grant award's performance period, assist the Grant Administrator 2, provide clerical work such as updating logs, monitor the group email inbox, and offer general administrative support to the unit. This position will be responsible for adhering to federal and state regulations and statutes.

The working environment you can expect:
This position is located in the Juneau Headquarters building with access to ample, unrestricted parking. The incumbent can expect daily interaction with the DAS team and frequent interaction with division staff via teleconference, TEAMS, and in person. Daily work is conducted independently and collaboratively with support from the Grants Administrator 2 and general supervision from the Grants Administrator 3. Working hours are flexible between standard operating hours Monday through Friday.

Some knowledge of general record keeping, bookkeeping and accounting practices and terminology, including techniques and methods used in reconciliation of accounts and auditing.

Ability to understand and compare accounts maintenance data from a variety of sources for accuracy and completeness; accuracy in computing budget or expenditure totals.

Ability to collect and organize data and interpret its significance.

Ability to monitor data from a variety of sources for accuracy and completeness, identify discrepancies, and make corrections.

Ability to accurately key data and information into databases and management information systems.

Ability to work effectively under pressure.
