Menn Law Firm, Ltd. has an opening for an experienced and talented Paralegal to join their distinguished Estate Planning team in Chilton, Wisconsin. Ideal candidates must have broad knowledge in estate planning documents drafting and trust & estate management.
Compensation:
$25 - $30 hourly
Responsibilities:
Overall responsibilities include extensive client contact, the preparation of court probate filings and accountings, the preparation of estate plans, and correspondence with financial institutions and other professionals, including the following responsibilities:
Probate & Trust Administration

Preparation and filing of the documentation for probate, conservatorship, guardianship, and other trust-related matters, including trust accountings, real property deeds, and tax-related forms.

Assist with matters such as identifying and marshaling assets, preparing probate petitions, maintaining a calendar system of court and other deadlines, maintaining financial records of the estate, preparing inventories and accountings, and fulfilling many other functions throughout the probate process.

Maintain a schedule and calendar system of court and other deadlines for completing documents, filing inventories, and closing estates.

Prepare and transmit all necessary papers to transfer securities and financial accounts.

Distribute estate/decedent assets by contacting banks, brokerage houses, and appraisers.

Prepare receipts and releases.

Establish estate checking accounts.

Prepare and file all claims for insurance proceeds and death benefits.

Assist with the preparation of trust accountings, estate, and gift tax returns, and income and fiduciary returns.
Estate Planning

Draft fee agreements and other legal documents necessary for client representation in estate planning matters.

Independently initiate and maintain active correspondence with clients and financial institutions and answer typical questions by email or phone concerning estate planning.

Maintain a schedule and calendar for the preparation and completion of estate planning documents.

Work with supervising attorney(s) to manage client files, and timelines for each matter and track the progress of all necessary tasks for yourself, clients, and attorney(s).

With direction from supervising attorney(s), draft estate planning documents such as wills, revocable trusts, marital property agreements, powers of attorney for healthcare and finance, and other estate planning instruments.

Draft and format, edit, and proofread documents with full attention to detail.

Prepare correspondence and communicate directly with clients to review/obtain/clarify/gather missing information needed to prepare estate planning documents.

Prepare for and participate in signing meetings for estate planning clients, including notarization of documents and preparation of final estate planning documents.
Qualifications:-
Experience in these specialized areas of practice is required.

Excellent organizational skills are critical. The right candidate must have the ability to efficiently organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them on time with full attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent grammar, proofreading, and English composition skills are also essential.

Current Notary Public Commission preferred.
