Truck Service Manager manages day to day operations of a truck maintenance shop. Schedules, trains, and coordinates work of mechanics and technicians. Being a Truck Service Manager ensures inventory of replacement parts, tools, and equipment is maintained effectively. Establishes and enforces quality and safety standards and regulations for preventive maintenance and repairs. Additionally, Truck Service Manager knowledge of DOT rules and regulations. Experienced in heavy diesel engine diagnosis and repairs. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Truck Service Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. We are a fast paced independent repair facility that has been locally owned and operated in Fairbanks since 1977. We pride ourselves in delivering exceptional customer service and quality repairs. We are looking for that team player that takes pride in their work, has excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient using a computer to write up repair orders and look up estimates and delivering the estimates for the customer for approval. Must know how to utilize time by ordering parts and orchestrating repairs to make the shop work flow easily. Attention to detail when finishing tickets to ensure all parts and labor is billed out at the correct rates and the total is what the customer is expecting to hear. Must be able to work independently as well as with a team.
Other office duties to include filing, answering phones, office cleaning, posting invoices, collecting payments, dispatching wrecker and other needed office tasked may be requested
