JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Regional Truck Driver

REPORTS TO: Logistics Coordinator

SUPERVISES: N/A

CLASSIFICATION: Full Time (30 hours or more)

• POSITION SUMMARY: The truck driver will drive within a 500 mile radius of Omaha and will be home every night. The driver to transport materials to and from specified destinations. This position performs driving tasks independently daily and handles administrative documentation and procedures. You will be responsible for maintaining the company truck in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
• Transporting goods and raw materials over land to and from specified destinations.
• Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules.
• Perform pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicle to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Document hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel expenditure.
• Represent the company to customers, the public and other external sources in a respectful and professional manner.
• Comply with DOT rules and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
• Maneuver truck into loading or unloading positions.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions.
• QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Valid Class A CDL license.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Proven work experience as a truck driver.
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
• Knowledge of Federal Department for Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to sit and remain alert while driving for an extended period.
• Must be able to shift manual transmission and operate foot pedals.
• Must be able to walk, bend, reach, pull, stoop, squat and climb, as necessary to perform vehicle inspections.
