Being a Treasury Analyst researches economic trends and investment opportunities. May assist senior staff with preparing materials and reports using standard methodologies and procedures. Additionally, Treasury Analyst determines procurement of funds, and monitors investments and collections. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Treasury Analyst work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Treasury Analyst typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     Responsibilities:

    • Daily cash positioning (ACH, wires, transfers, tracking).
    • Bank account administration, analysis, reporting and month end closing.
    • Forecasts; Borrowing as needed; Working capital analysis.
    • Working capital analysis and fair market debt analysis.
    • Investing excess cash daily per investment guidelines.
    • Tracking interest income and expense against the budget.
    • Provides assistance for creating forecasts and budgets for managers by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent job-related experience is required
    • 1-3 years' experience in finance or accounting
    • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills
    • Must have an advanced understanding of the financial management process
    • Excellent time-management skills with demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines
    • Good oral and written communication skills
    • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, Vlookups, and strong keyboard commands

    Responsible for cash management, tracking capital expenditures, reviewing invoices, foreign exchange, debt and investment transactions, and assisting management as needed.

     

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

     

    Cash Management

    • Daily cash positioning (ACH, wires, transfers, tracking)
    • Bank account administration, analysis, reporting and month end closing
    • Forecasts

    Bank covenant calculation and analysis

     

    Debt and investment transactions

    • Investing excess cash daily per investment guidelines
    • Borrowing as needed
    • Tracking interest income and expense against budget

    Forecasting and Budgeting

    • Provides assistance for creating forecasts and budgets to managers by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends.
    • Working capital analysis
    • Fair market debt analysis

    Miscellaneous Invoicing – Input and tracking

    Minimum Qualifications

     

    Education Level: (Required)  Bachelor's Degree         

                                                     

    Field of Study/Area of Experience:  Finance or Accounting

     

    1-5 years of experience in Finance or Accounting

     

    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

    • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills.
    • Must have advanced understanding of the financial management process.
    • Excellent time-management skills with demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.

Treasury Analysts seem to be robots plugging in numbers to spreadsheets, but the Director of Billing basically is responsible for and involved in all accounting related to revenues – deferring unearned, accruing unbilled, dealing with auditors, analyzing to ensure accuracy, determining appropriate accruals for bad debt, some forecasting of future billing and/or cash flow, etc.
