Treasurer guides the overall direction, coordination, and operation of the organization's treasury department. Develops the strategic vision and direction for the treasury function. Being a Treasurer directs and manages treasury activities of an organization including financial forecasting and mitigating risk. Ensures financial transactions, policies, and procedures fulfill the organization's objectives, needs, and regulatory body requirements. Additionally, Treasurer is responsible for the corporate banking, credit, and investment functions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Treasurer manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Treasurer typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. SALARY: 15% of Teacher Salary Scale Roles & Responsibilities- Set up accounts for various school activities as necessary
- Verify deposits and issue receipts for monies received
- Prepare and process vouchers for monies expended according to school department procedures
- Maintain all records of transactions for all accounts
- Make deposits with the bank on a regular basis
- Accept receipts from athletic events and make the proper disbursements of these monies
- Perform reconciliation’s of all bank accounts
- Provide exchange checks for all school activities
- Provide financial information/advice to the building principal
- Provide advice and assistance to class officers, advisors, ect.
- Prepare annual financial report for the Controller’s Office.
- Maintain confidentiality of accounts
- Maintain school store
- Meet with the principal monthly to go over all recorded transactions and the monthly bank statement
- Preference given to current teachers at the individual school
- Responsible for account and balancing of student funds and reports for PPSD accounting.
- Knowledge of computer peripherals such as a scanner and a zip drive, preferred.
- Must be available after school.
- Must have demonstrated organizational skills and meet all deadlines.
- Preference will be given to teachers with experience.
