An award winning logistics company based in Southern New Jersey is seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to join our team! We are a leader in the trucking industry and our team is expanding. Our primary focus is on Agricultural hauling, principally Nursery products and fresh produce. We have a fleet of trucks that reach nationwide and operate a wide variety of equipment. This full time position is ideal for a motivated individual with Freight experience, excellent communication and computer skills and the ability to lead a team of OTR drivers. Responsibilities:

• Communicating and negotiating rates with existing customers and brokers
• Directing activities related to dispatching, routing and tracking of our fleet across the lower 48 states
• Troubleshoot and direct resolutions with pickups and deliveries
• Recruiting, hiring, training and development of drivers
• Employee discipline issues and write ups
• Coordinate as need with mechanic shop on maintenance of fleet
• Collaborating with staff to formulate and implement transportation related procedures as well as company revenue goals and customer service objectives
• Build relationships with customers and help to resolve customer issues

• Ability to work in a high paced environment
• Ability to foster and build professional relationships with drivers, customers, brokers and other team members
• Strong organizational skills
• Experience in using dispatch software and load boards
• Complying with transportation related policies as well as DOT regulations
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations
• Must be available to work Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm in office
• Availability to take afterhours phone calls (nights and weekends)

Preferred experience:

• Experience as a manager, dispatcher, freight broker or recruiter in the trucking industry strongly preferred
• Previous office environment experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management a plus
• CDL-A license a plus
