Transportation Manager manages and coordinates the daily operations of a transportation network including safety, compliance, equipment, and staff. Implements operational policies and procedures to ensure safety and efficiency in all transportation activities. Being a Transportation Manager monitors transportation costs, service level agreements, and performance metrics to identify and resolve problems and achieve efficiencies. Partners with internal and external stakeholders to meet forecasted capacity needs. Additionally, Transportation Manager manages relations with transportation providers to ensure the achievement of required service levels. Requires a bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Transportation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Transportation Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Summary:
Transports
1. Receives
transportation requests assignments from Supervisor . 2. Regularly
checks fluid levels of SMC vehicles used for transportation 3. Assures
promptness in meeting appointment time of residents 4. Operates
vehicle in safe manner and in accordance with all highway laws 5. Works
varied hours to accommodate the transportation needs of residents 6. Performs
pre-trip vehicle checks. Driver’s License in state of Ohio with a good driving record and
insurable under the OMH policy.
