Transportation Manager manages and coordinates the daily operations of a transportation network including safety, compliance, equipment, and staff. Implements operational policies and procedures to ensure safety and efficiency in all transportation activities. Being a Transportation Manager monitors transportation costs, service level agreements, and performance metrics to identify and resolve problems and achieve efficiencies. Partners with internal and external stakeholders to meet forecasted capacity needs. Additionally, Transportation Manager manages relations with transportation providers to ensure the achievement of required service levels. Requires a bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Transportation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Transportation Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Description

    AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager to support our exciting projects in the Albuquerque, NM office. The appropriately qualified applicant will have demonstrated experience in project and client management of multi-disciplinary transportation projects.

    The candidate will have various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group / department.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Builds strong relationships and interacts regularly with existing and new clients, teaming partners, industry groups and stakeholders

    • Continue and strengthen client relationships within the Surface Transportation Industry, specific to public sector clients.

    • Identifies, pursues, and wins Surface Transportation and infrastructure design projects.

    • Coordinates and collaborates with other leaders within AECOM's U.S. West Transportation Group.

    • Serves as lead engineer, approves, and signs off on work on local, state, and federal projects.

    • Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.

    • Performs technical reviews of work developed by others.

    • Continuously interacts with clients assuring satisfaction with AECOM services and interacting with project delivery personnel to ensure any service issues are identified and addressed in a proactive manner.

    • Drives project performance and is responsible for the performance of a portfolio of projects

    • Collaborates with peers/leaders in the AECOM U.S. West department to leverage technical expertise, ensure client satisfaction and implement best practices.

    • Participates in development of technical proposals.


    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • BA/BS 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience or education


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

    • NM PE license, or ability to obtain within 6 months

    • 10 years of experience delivering transportation projects

    • 5 years of experience as a project and client manager

    • Experience managing multi-disciplinary transportation projects

    • Client relationships, business development, and pursuit capture experience

    • Experience managing a team or group

    • Roadway, traffic, drainage, or structures design background

    • Must be able to thrive in a team environment

    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

    • Ability to track and manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules

    Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $92,870.00 - $171,809.00.
