We are seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to join our team and oversee our daily product shipments.
As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of supply chain management and possess knowledge of warehouse procedures, including inventory management, order dispatching, and vehicle routing and tracking. You must be familiar with safety protocols and legal regulations to ensure the smooth and secure handling of all shipments. You will be responsible for optimizing the efficiency of our transportation operations while adhering to budgetary constraints.
The Transportation Manager plans and schedules routes, arranges backhauls, tracks on-time deliveries and route completion, oversees warehouse loading, monitors transportation costs, ensures compliance with shipping regulations, and coordinates with third-party providers to ensure vehicles are in good working order. This individual will manage a Loading Supervisor, approximately 25 loading associates, an office support staff and approximately 50 drivers who deliver hardware products from our Knoxville distribution center to hundreds of independent hardware retailers.
